Brodie Smithers - Scribe for Hire

Of all the sports I greedily consume, boxing is perhaps the one that gets me most excited. I’ve been a fight fan since I was a young kid and grew up watching iconic boxers such as Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn, Frank Bruno, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Mr T in Rocky III. These days I fully immerse myself in the careers of the new crop of global fighters and love the sense of anticipation before the first bell and watching the ring craft and tactical battles unfold across the fight. You’ll also find me ringside at various locally promoted Scottish bouts as I cast my eye over potential new stars eager to emulate Benny Lynch or Ken Buchanan. When it comes to writing about boxing I deliver a combination of honest comment and tactical analysis with a sucker-punch of huge enthusiasm, adding a sense of humour and insight often missing from traditional boxing articles.
